KABUL (SW) – The victims of Sunday’s brazen assault on office of the Green Trend in Kabul shared some important details surrounding the incident.
One of the victims, Haleema – who lost her mother and a brother to the attack, said some white flags of the Taliban regime littered with blood were found at the Green Trend office days before the attack. She said a neighbor was taken into custody and interrogated in connection with it. She added head of the GT Amrullah Saleh, candidate for the vice president, and many other locals were apprehensive about the movement of suspected people at the residence of this particular neighbor, but he was released after few hours.
According to Haleema, this particular neighbor vacated the home an hour ahead of the attack.
Sharing details about the death of her family members, Haleena said her mother wished to rescue a grandson when she was hit by a bullet, and when her brother wish to rescue their mother a second car bombing killed him as well.
In the neighborhood, a young boy named Mansur was busy looking for his books and trophies in rubbles of a home. Mansur said he saw a group of men last evening get down of a car apparently hiding something under their cloth and directing children to run away from the near the Green Trend office. Mansur added a loud blast rocked the neighborhood minutes later injuring his brother and friends.
Many residents lamented that the GT officials were aware of the eminent threat, but they did nothing to prevent it.
SW wished to have views of the GT on it, but they declined to comment.
At least 20 people including 16 civilians and four security officials got killed and more than 50 got injured in this attack.
There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
