JALALABAD (SW): Hundreds of passengers, including women and children, are stranded on both sides of the Torkham crossing point between Pakistan and Afghanistan since yesterday due to its closure.
According to reports, following a bomb blast that left a number of people wounded on Friday on the Pakistani side of the crossing point, the Pakistani forces have closed down the gate. Pakistani media reported that as many as six members of its security forces got wounded in bomb blast on Friday.
Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman for the governor of Nangahar province, told Salam Watandar that the blast has left 7 Afghan civilians wounded who have been shifted to hospital for treatment.
The Frontier Constabulary (FC) forces of Pakistan have closed the Torkham crossing point following this blast leaving hundreds of people, including women, children and elderly people, stranded on both sides of it. The stranded passengers have called for swift opening of this busy crossing point between the two countries.
