MIDAN CITY (SW): Local officials in Maidan Wardak province have said that the Taliban have launched attacks on Hizb-e-Isalmi basses in the province.
Rahman Mangal, the spokesperson for the governor told Salam Watandar that clashes between the Taliban and Hizb-e-Islami fighters ended after 3 hours. The spokesperson for the governor added that 10 Taliban fighters, including a commander named Yusuf have been killed, and 12 others have been injured in these clashes. He added that with such attacks, the Taliban want to damage the peace deal that has been agreed upon by the Afghan government and the Hizb-e-Islami.
Mangal mentioned that operation against the Taliban in the area has been launched.
The Taliban have not commented in this regard so far.
