PUL-I-KHUMRI (SW) – A roadside blast killed eight civilians, including four children, in Baghlan province on Monday.
Spokesman for the police headquarters, Ahmad Jawed, said a passenger car carrying civilians hit the roadside landmine in the ‘Aka Khelo’ neighborhood in the Dand-e-Shahabuddin area.
Head of public hospital in Pul-e-Khumri, Mohammad Anwar, said two women, two men and four children are among those killed while six more people got injured in this attack. A number of injured are said to be in critical state.
The security official claim this incident took place in the Taliban-controlled area, however, it was claimed last month that the area has been reclaimed from the Taliban.
On Saturday, an identical roadside blast in a Taliban-controlled area in Takhar province claimed the lives of at least five school children.
