KABUL (SW) – Former president Hamid Karzai lashed out at the U.S. and Pakistan on Thursday for hijacking the Afghan peace process.
Addressing a press conference here, Karzai stressed peace should be ensure all over the country. He added the current peace process is in the control of the U.S. and Pakistan, and it is not in the benefit of Afghanistan.
He stressed the National Unity Government should stay intact until a peace deal is signed and foreign troops leave so that Afghanistan can have independent elections.
This comes amid reports about a proposed peace deal between the U.S. and Taliban. It is said this deal would be followed by a peace deal among the Afghans.
