Noor lashes out at Abdullah

13/03/2017

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (SW): Atta Mohammad Noor, the Chief Executive of Jamiat-e-Islami party, and governor of Balkh province, has publicly deplored his support for Abdullah Abdullah, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Unity Government (NUG), during the 2014 Presidential Elections.

Noor, who strongly supported Abdullah as Jamiat’s candidate in the 2014 Presidential Elections, vehemently criticized him. During a gathering to mark the third death anniversary of the former vice president Marshal Qaseem Faheem, Noor said Abdullah has been ‘secretive’ in his affairs which violates the principles of the party.

The Balkh governor also criticized some appointments in the cabinet, and blamed Abdullah for bargaining over the rights of his voters.

We wished to have the views of the CEO in this regard, but to no avail. It is worth noticing that after serving as acting governor for a while during the NUG, Noor has recently been re-appointed as governor of the Balkh province.
