14/03/2018

KABUL (SW): The Hezb-e Islami Executive Council led by Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal said Gulbuddin Hekmatyar does not have the authority to sack the members of the party.

According to this Council, the Hezb-e Islami, headed by Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, was registered at the Ministry of Justice nine years ago, and nobody else can lead the party except Mr Arghandiwal.

Gul Mohammad Gulzai, a member of the Hezb-e Islami Executive Council led by Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, said that if Gulbaddin Hekmatyar seeks to be politically active through a party, he should choose another name for his party.

Hekmatyar does not have the authority to sack the members of Hezb-e Islami Party because the party is led by Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, said Gul Mohammad Gulzai. He added that this party is not unified with Hekmatyar and that it has no common political activity with him.

Meanwhile, Fazl Ghani Haqmal, spokesman of the Hezb-e Islami party, led by Gulbaddin Hekmatyar said that according to the decision of the party’s executive board, Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, Engineer Mohammad Khan, the first deputy of the CEO office, and Justice Minister, Basir Anwar, were suspended from membership of Hezb-e Islami party. Their activities for the interest of other political parties were cited by Fazl Ghani Haqmal as the main reasons for their dismissal from the party.

According to him, for nearly 50 years, the Hezb-e Islami led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar has been active. A peace agreement with the government was signed by the party led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, and if Mr Arghandiwal wants to be politically active, then he should change his party’s name, Mr Haqmal added.

The party of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar yesterday dismissed Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, Engineer Mohammad Khan, the first deputy of the CEO office, and Basir Anwar, the Justice Minister, from the Hezb-e Islami party.
