Good governance; from slogan to actions

28/09/2016

KABUL (SW): In wake of the forthcoming Brussels Conference of Afghanistan, a number of analysts and common citizens believe the government has failed to turn its slogans for good governance into actions.

These citizens stated that insecurity and unemployment are on the rise, and the National Unity Government (NUG) leaders have not met the promises they made in regard to good governance.

Ahmad Parwani, a civil society activist, stated that during the last two years, the NUG has done nothing for the improvement of governance. He added that with no considerable achievements, the NUG leaders would attend in the Brussels Conference of Afghansitan.

Abdull Wadood Pidram, another civil society activist, believed that the NUG has no achievements when it comes to good governance. The donor countries would not wish to continue donating Afghanistan, he claimed.

Meanwhile, Ajmal Hamid, the spokesperson for Ministry of Finance (MoF) claimed that the NUG has accomplished a lot. He mentioned the establishing of counter corruption judicial center, appointment of the Attorney General and establishment of the centers to monitor caes of violence against women in all 34 provinces.

The MoF spokesman mentioned that the NUG leaders would proudly attend the conference in Brussels and present a strong case for the country.
