KABUL (SW): Ajab Gul was an Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier who lost his life in a Taliban ambush, but now his father is struggling to receive the unfortunate soldier’s pension money.
Gul was serving at the 205-Attal Corps in Kandahar. One day, as he was leaving for his home town in Kunduz province, the militants captured and brutally killed him leaving his body lying in a deserted area for days.
Mohammad Gul, father of the fallen soldier, informed Salam Watandar that once his contact with his son got disconnected, he started search for him. Blaming the Ministry of Defense (MoD) for lack of cooperation, the unfortunate father said he was informed by a taxi driver about the death and dead body of his son in Kandahar after almost a month.
He lamented that the MoD and the ANA’s 205-Attal Corps have not cooperated with him for his martyred son’s pension fund. “My son served the Army for four years, but the government is not cooperating with us now”, he sighed.
Rajab Gul, brother of Ajab Gul, said in this regard that the officials have told them that his brother was dismissed from the duty, and hence the pension cannot be paid.
When contacted, Mohammad Radmanesh, deputy spokesman for the MoD, informed that no negligence is tolerated in the transportation of wounded and fallen soldiers. He said if the family members of Ajab Gul possess authentic documents, they would be given the pension fund.
