
CHIGHCHIRAN (SW): The Taliban militants in Ghor province have imposed a levy worth AFN 1500 on each and every family in the Dolina district.
Abdul Hai Khatibi, provincial governor’s spokesman, while confirming the report told Salam Watandar that Mullah Ahamd Shah, the Taliban’s shadow deputy governor, has issued the order to the Taliban militants in Ghor to collect this tax from the locals. “If the people refuse to pay, the Taliban have warned of worst consequences”, added Khatibi.
Bismillah Sediqi, acting police chief at the Dolina district, has also confirmed the visit of the Taliban’s shadow deputy governor to Ghor. He, however, said the police have not received any news about the Taliban collecting money from the locals. The Dolina police chief also commented on an incident that took place yesterday in which 7 Afghan Local Police (ALP) men resigned over their relatives’ abduction by the Taliban. The Taliban have not commented on the matter of imposed tax in Dolina district.
