Zaher Qadeer refrains from sharing evidence to back his claims

KABUL (SW): Zaher Qadeer, the Deputy Speaker of Wolesi Jirga (lower house) on Wednesday claimed if he disclosed evidence regarding Daesh-government nexus, the government would collapse.

Qadeer caused a buzz few days back when he blamed the government for indirectly supporting Daesh rebels in the east and the leaders of this militant organization having regular meetings in the capital Kabul.

He told the house on Wednesday, evidence for these claims would be furbished on “appropriate” time. He was holding a compact disk in his hand while making these remarks.

Zaher Qadeer went on to say that the political and economic situation of the country does not permit him to disclose these documents at this time.

On November 23, he claimed the government was backing Daesh rebels in the Shinawari areas in Nangarhar and the militants arrested there been liberated on the directives of the higher-ups.

The deputy speaker also informed the house that an uprising would commence in the Shinwari areas against the Daesh from today (Wednesday). He mentioned that an unorganized uprising in the past improved security in this part of the country to a large extent.

He urged the government to support this uprising as in some other areas of the country. Zaher Qadeer discarded the rumors about him forming a parallel militia.

It is worth noticing that the President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani had formed a committee to probe the claims made by Zaher Qadeer. The deputy speaker however, declined to cooperate with this committee by calling it a violation of the Article 101 of the Constitution.
