WJ shows concerns over the Presidential decree on reforms in security institutions

KABUL (SW): Some members of Wolesi Jirga (lower house) in the Saturday session showing concern over the recent Presidential decree on reforms in security institutions said that the decree is not executable.

According to these WJ members, 65 thousand members of defense and security forces will be out of their jobs.

General Naqibullah, a member of the WJ, lamenting the proposed firing of 65 thousand members of the security forces on the foreigners said with the execution of the decree seasoned officers will be replaced by inexperience people. According to him, the proposed plan will make 60 per cent of Ministry of Interior, 50 per cent of Ministry of Defense and 40 per cent of National Directorate of Security officers jobless.

Saleh Mohammad Saleh, another member of the WJ, called the decree against the laws of the country and added that with the current situation of security in the country the execution of this proposal is not possible.

Dawlat Waziri, the Ministry of Defense spokesman, rejecting the allegations said that the Ministry is working to create positions for 5 thousand fresh cadets.

Previously the WJ had shown concerns over the recent Presidential decree on reforms in defense and security institutions.

Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi, the speaker of the house, assigned the defense and security committee of the WJ to summoned security officials to clarify the matter and report on it to the house in the next session.
