KABUL (SW): Some members of the Wolesi Jirga (lower house) in the Wednesday’s session expressed concerns over the growing activities of Daesh in Pichragaam district of Nangarhar.
The representatives of Nangarhar and other provinces warned to create interim administration if the government continues to fail in providing security for the people.
Zahir Qadir, the representative from Nangarhar in the WJ, warned if the government does not provide security, the house will strive to create an interim administration. The representative from Nangarhar also said that he will not allow anyone to misuse the votes of the people. He also claimed to have documents indicating some elites support Daesh in Nanagarhar.
Nazifa Zaki, another member of the WJ, while expressing concerns over Daesh's activities in Nangarhar, said if the government does not act to end the activities of the rebels there, the capital would also feel the heat.
But, Dawa Khan Minapal, deputy presidential spokesman, has said a military operation to wipe-out rebels has already begun in Nangarhar.
Meanwhile, the speaker of the house has assigned the Security and Defense Committee to analyze the security situation in Nangarhar and hold talks with the executive branch for better security.
