KABUL (SW) – A number of Wolesi Jirga (lower house) members on Wednesday criticized the security operation against Nezamuddin Qaisari, former district police commander.
In today’s session, a number of MPs said the government should not deal with criminals with discrimination, and the law should apply equally to everyone.
Abdul Rauf Anami, a member of the house, dubbed this security operation as ‘illegal’. He said the directives for this operation were issued by a person who has his own case pending in the judicial institutions. According to him, civilians suffered heavy financial losses in the operation at Qaisari’s home in Mazar-i-Sharif.
The WJ speaker, Mir Rahman Rahmani, ordered the security and defense affairs committees of the house to appoint a panel to review the military operation at Qaisari's home.
Security forces raided Qaisari’s home in Mazar-e-Sharif three days ago to detain him, but failed to arrest him after hours of fighting.
