19/02/2016

KABUL (SW): The Wall of Kindness, a regional campaign aimed at promoting the culture of sharing, gained its foothold in Kabul on Saturday with citizens placing clothes and other material on the wall for those in need.

With the slogan “If you need pick some and if you don’t leave some”, the campaign has become popular across the region.

In Kabul, the campaign was launched by the New Perspective Organization, and was warmly welcomed by a number of citizens.

A number of people voluntarily placed clothes, appliances and other stuff for those in need. They told Salam Watandar that by launching such programs, they would encourage citizens towards harmony and humanity.

Khatera Yousufi, one of the organizers, urged all the citizens in the country to hold such programs in their cities. She added that in the coming days, the ‘Wall of Kindness’ would also be launched in other parts of the capital.

Mehran Neyayesh, another civil society activist, said that among unpleasant news in the country, such move is an indication of harmony and kind-heartedness among the citizens. He urged upon well-to-do families to take part in such programs to help those who live in dire poverty.

The idea of “The Wall of Kindness “has come from Iran and then got popular in Pakistan before coming to Afghanistan.
