GHAZNI CITY (SW) – Fighting has resumed in Ghazni after a brief respite following the coordinated assaults on the city by the Taliban rebels two days ago.
Fareed Omari, head of the local Ghaznaviyan TV, informed Salam Watandar the rebels have torched telecommunication towers, office of a local provincial council member besides spreading fear. Civilians living close to police stations have fled for safer places.
The clashes resumed this morning at around 11:00 am with the rebels torching a police station and Ghaznaviyan TV office in the city.
An official at the public hospital informed 16 bodies and 30 injured were brought to the hospital today. On the social media, the death toll is said to be much higher.
A numbe r of Ghazni residents in Kabul have erected ‘Save Ghazni’ camp in the Shahr-e-Nau park.
