JALALABAD (SW): Authorities in eastern Nangarhar province have arrested two men on suspicion in connection with the killing of eight members of one family in Behsud district early this week.
The security officials said the two person hindered investigations at the site of the crime. An official told Salam Watandar that the men tried to steal a mobile from the crime scene besides other moves to intrude and hinder the officials’ work.
The horrific incident shocked the nation when police discovered the eight dead bodies in a house in Mirzad Qala area of the district on Monday. Three men believed to have visited the family and killed the hosts after the dinner.
Civil society and social media activists in Nangarhar have asked the government to thoroughly investigate the killings.
The issue was also discussed in the Masharano Jirga (upper house) today where senators urged the local authorities to vividly look into the matter and bring the culprits to justice.
