The democratic process would flourish: Abdullah

KABUL (SW): Vowing to address the people’s complaints regarding the Government of National Unity (GNU), Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah said on Monday that the democratic process would flourish in the country.

Chairing the cabinet meeting, Abdullah admitted the GNU has been facing challenges but it also has achievements. He said war has been imposed on Afghanistan by the enemies to create panic and mistrust among the citizen towards the state.

He emphasized that the democratic process that started 14 years ago through people’s votes would continue systematically without any impediment.

“We, as leaders of the country should prove by our actions rather than words that we are fully committed to improve situation in the country. We do our best to bridge the gap between people and government”, Abdullah told the ministers.

The Chief Executive added that the country has passed through a difficult time and now is the time to address people’s problems.

“Sometimes, we hear rumours of an interim government; such idea should be removed from people’s mind. We must assure people that we are committed to provide services for them and capitalize on any opportunity in this regard so that we could fulfil our responsibilities towards them” he noted.
