QALA-I-NAU (SW): The Taliban militants have taken away at least ten members of the Afghan National Army (ANA) in Badghes province after storming a security check post, officials confirmed on Saturday.
Mirza Ali, governor of the Ab Kamari district, told Salam Watandar that the incident took place last night. He charged that an ANA man Ishaq Pahlawan collaborated with the Taliban in this attack. He confirmed 10 soldiers were stationed at the check post when the Taliban stormed it.
The security forces have begun operation to rescue the ANA men, the district governor added.
Zaher Bahand, spokesman for the provincial governor, has also confirmed the incident. He said an infiltrator has collaborated with the Taliban in this operation. Bahand said efforts are underway to liberate the soldiers.
