PUL-I-ALAM (SW): A number of religious scholars and residents in Logar province informed of Taliban`s preconditions for girl`s education in Logar and welcomed the preconditions.

According to them, the Taliban have said that education would only be allowed for girls if they would put on hijab.

The Taliban have also said that girl’s students should not carry mobile phone with themselves.

The scholars and residents while appreciating the Taliban`s measures for allowing girls to be educated, urged head of Education Department in Logar to improve and bring changes to girl`s education in the province.

Fazel Omar, Director of Monitoring and Evaluation Department at the Education Department, said that those girl`s schools in Pul-e-Alam and Baraki Barak districts which were previously closed by the Taliban have been reopened to the students.

According to Omar, now 80 percent of the problems related to the girl`s education have solved and by next year all the challenges would be fully met.

A while ago, 28 schools in Pul-e-Alam and Baraki Barak districts were closed since Taliban balmed the schools for lack of attention to Islamic affairs.

Officials at the Education Department in the province saif that currently the girl`s schools have been reopened.
