KANDAHAR CITY (SW): A source on conditions of anonymity from Khakriz district has told Salam Watandar that Taliban attacked an army outpost in Karz Ali area of the district, killing at least 40 security forces and taking a number of soldiers with themselves.
The Karz Ali military outpost is situated 12 kilometers from the center of the district, stationing 70 soldiers.
The 205 Corps and local authorities of Kandahar have not confirmed the incident, but Zia Durrani, provincial police chief, only acknowledged the Taliban attack on the district.
While, Qari Yusif Ahmadi, the Taliban spokesman, confirmed the killing of the security forces. A Taliban statement claims that the Taliban shot 74 soldiers and have taken 6 more with themselves.
