
QALA-E-NAU (SW) – An official has informed the Taliban stormed the Afghan National Army (ANA) check post in Badghes province killing 30 soldiers.
Abdul Aziz Baik, chairman of the provincial council, informed the rebels also took away two armoured vehicles, arms and ammunition after this assault on an ANA base in Bala Murghab district. He claimed the Taliban’s shadow governor planned this attack by taking advantage of the three-day truce during Eid.
Meanwhile, spokesman for the police headquarters, Naqebullah Amini, has stated nine Taliban got killed and eight more got wounded during clashes in Badghes while the rebels torched two armored vehicles of the army.
He informed the Taliban also attacked a number of check posts in Abqamari district overrunning a number of areas. The spokesman said the Taliban have been defeated by killing 15 of their fighters and wounding 20 more. Amini said only one member of the local uprising force got killed and two members of the Afghan Local Police (ALP) got wounded in these clashes.
