KANDAHAR CITY (SW) – Local officials in Kandahar have said the Taliban killed at least eight employees of the Independent Election Commission last night.
According to Mohammad Hashim Durani, provincial head of the Independent Election Commission, the incident took place in the Maruf district. He said these IEC employees were busy in connection with the voter registration drive here.
Meanwhile, the Taliban have issued a statement claiming five policemen have been killed in this attack.
