SHEBERGHAN (SW) – At least 17 security forces got killed in a Taliban-led suicide car bombing in Jawzjan province, a well-placed source said on Monday.
The source wishing not to be named in the report said the suicide bomber used a Humvee packed with explosives to carry out the assault in the Khanqa district’s Shah Mirza village.
Health officials in the province confirmed 13 people got killed and four more got injured in this incident.
Spokesman for the police headquarters, Abdul Wahid Wajdan, confirmed the assault, but did not share details about the casualties.
The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack. In a social media post, Zabihullah Mujahed, the Taliban spokesman, said 19 security forces got killed in this attack.
