Taliban kill 14 soldiers in Kunduz

KUNDUZ (SW) – At least 14 soldiers got killed and three more got wounded in the Taliban’s raids on their check posts in Kunduz city, sources said on Monday.

According to the well-placed sources, the incident took place in the Seh Darak area on the outskirts of Kunduz city. The source said exchange of fire between the security forces and Tailban continued for two hours, and at the end, the insurgents took away the remaining arms from the check post after torching two armored vehicles.

The incident took place not far away from the headquarters of the 217 – Pamir Corps of the Afghan National Army. Spokesman for this Corps has only confirmed killing of two soldiers in the attack.

The Taliban on the other hand vowed to have killed 19 soldiers in this attack.
