MAIDAN CITY(SW):Local officials in Maidan Wardak province has said that the Taliban kidnapped seven passengers who were on their way at Kabul-Bamiyan highway in Jalriz district on Monday morning.
Naqibullah Haidari, District Chief in Jalriz, told SalamWatandar that the Taliban have set up checkpoint in Ismayel Kheyl area in the district where they kidnapped the seven passengers.
He said that four of the abductees were released in the afternoon following the mediation of the tribal elders.
He added that the tribal elders would do their best to help release the rest three passengers soon.
Taliban have abducted passengers at Kabul-Bamiyan highway in Jalriz time and again.
The district witnessed a fierce and bloody fighting between the militants and local police at the beginning of the current year.
Earlier, the militants also kidnapped a number of staff from Local Governance in Bamiyan at the very highway.
