KABUL (SW) – The Taliban have charged both presidential deputies of lacking command of ‘Islamic studies and history’.

In a statement, the Taliban accused vice presidents Amrullah Saleh and Sarwar Danish for appearing in media for the past few days as a part of a ‘peculiar anti-peace plan’,

First Vice President Amrullah Saleh said during a speech marking the International Day of Peace that during the Taliban's rule, thousands of girls were married off without their consent to Taliban commanders and close associates. He said the Taliban have been collecting taxes from the people in the name of usher and zakat since its inception.

He called the Taliban a group that had diminished Afghanistan's "honor and pride" in the eyes of the international community.

Second Vice President Sarwar Danish in his remarks compared the era of the Mohammad Zais and Sado Zais to the Taliban.

Commenting on this, the Taliban spokesman called the two as ‘enemies of peace and establishment of an Islamic system’.
