Taliban abduct 9 nomads in Jawzjan

14/05/2017

SHEBERGHAN (SW): The Taliban insurgents have abducted 9 nomads from Qosh-Tapa district of Jawzjan province on Saturday afternoon.

Rahmatullah Hashar, chief of Darz-Aab district, has confirmed the incident. He told Salam Watandar that the Taliban insurgents abducted the nomads after pro-Daesh rebels had taken away a shepherd and his cattle with themselves. The abducted nomads are taken to Buz-Ghala-Khor village of Qosh-Tapa. “The rivalry between the Taliban and the Daesh has increased in the past few weeks in the province. These two insurgent groups mostly target civilians”, informed Hashar.

Mohammad Reza Ghafori, provincial governor’s spokesman, has neither confirmed nor rejected this incident, but said that the Taliban and Daesh rebels clash with each other often in the province.

Neither of the insurgent groups have commented on the abduction and kidnapping so far.
