JALALABAD (SW) – A suicide bombing aimed at the 02- Unit of the NDS forces claimed at least five lives in Nangarhar province, an official confirmed on Friday.
According to Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor, the incident took place in the provincial capital, Jalalabad. He said three security forces and two civilians got killed while 6 security forces and 16 civilians got injured.
Children are among the victims, he added. Khogyani said the attack was carried out by the attacker riding motorcycle-rickshaw.
The Taliban have taken responsibility for the attack.
Last Friday, close to 70 worshipers got killed in blasts that rocked a mosque in the Haska Maina district of the province.
