He said the GP has bought ‘Pakhtoons’ squad that would play under the captaincy of former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi. Bollywood actress Zareen Khan has been picked as brand ambassador by GP.

The six teams which will feature in the inaugural edition of the T10 tournament are: Maratha Arabians, Punjabi Legends, Bangla Tigers, Keralites King, Colombo Lions and Pakhtoons.

Talented Afghan players with proven track-record in the T-20 format of the game are likely to be obtained for this pioneering T-10 format that is likely to be much faster and passionate.

Gardiwal informed the four-day event would commence on December 21, and would be broadcast live by a number of sports channels across the globe. He added the objective behind the name of GP’s team is to portray a more promising image of Pakhtoons against the one marred by ragging violence in this region.

Habib Khan, owner of the GP squad, said on the occasion they would gather best available talent under Afridi in a bid to create more and more chances for lifting the trophy.
