MAZAR-I-SHARIF (SW) – Supporters of the Stability and Partnership electoral team on Saturday staged a protest demonstration against vote fraud in Mazar-i-Sharif, capital of Balkh province.
They demanded the electoral commission to separate the alleged void 300, 000 votes before resuming the vote recount process. They warned no one would be allowed to secure the top position through illegal and fraudulent means.
Mohammad Mohaqeq, the deputy to Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah, also took part in the demonstration. Addressing the rally, he stressed the results would not be accepted unless the fraudulent votes are separated from the genuine ones.
A day earlier, Abdullah said while addressing his supporters in Kabul that the recount can go ahead in the seven provinces where it was previously halted by the protesters.
