MAIMANA (SW): It has been more than 1 month since hundreds of security forces are besieged by the Taliban in Ghormach district, Faryab province.
A number soldiers and officers talking to Salam Watandar said it has been a while their food supply ran out and “they are eating pieces of crumbled and stale bread (naan)”.
These soldiers in the siege complaining about the negligence of security bosses and government leaders said that they are fighting to defend the country against the Taliban and will endure any hardship.
Adam Khan Mutmayain, the deputy commander of 209 Shaheen Corps, confirming the problems of food supply to the security forces in Ghormach, said that the military has a large operation to clean up the district.
Amir Mohammad, the commander of 1st Brigade, also assured that soon air and ground operation will be launched against the Taliban in Gormach district.
The security officials assured that the people and security forces will witness great achievement in rooting out Taliban in Faryab province especially in Ghormach and Qaisar districts.
Almost a month ago the center of Ghormach district fell to the Taliban resulting in a siege of 5 to 6 hundred of the security forces. To read more on this story, click here.
