
KABUL (SW): Six convicted terrorists who were on death row have been executed in Kabul on Sunday for the first round of such execution.
According to the reports, in this round the perpetrators behind the death of Burhanuddin Rabbani, former President and Head of High Peace Council and Abdullah Laghmani, the then Deputy for National Directorate of Security (NDS), have been executed.
A statement released by the Arg (Presidential Palace), said that the decree was issued based on the Constitution and prevailing laws in the country.
It said that the decree was issued at the continued request of the victims’ families who have lost loved ones in the terrorist attacks.
The statement further said that the six terrorists were executed for the terrorist activities and dismantling security.

Arg said that the execution took place after assessing and completing a just process in the courts and with the consideration of human rights.
The Statement added that the government considering the transparent process in the judicial and justice institutions is committed to ensure justice by punishing those culprits who endanger security of the citizens by carrying out terrorist activities.
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, a few day ago, while speaking at a joint session of the parliament, said that the cases of terrorist would be assessed and the court would sentence them to death.
