KABUL (SW): Qudsia, a graduate of Sayed Jamaludin Teacher Training College in Kabul: I was a final year student and my grades were good. I had difficulties in some courses, but anyways, I could fill out the exam sheet and get a passing grade.
I had difficulty in one of my courses and unfortantely the lecturer was a very indecent and sadistic person. He was often speaking against women in the classroom, and used to encourage gender-centered arguments to force the girls in the class to enter into dialogue with him.
He was staring at me often. Every time he started a discussion with others, he would often asked me: “Qudsia, isn’t that right?”, I would say “yes, it is” just out of fear. Finally, to my bad luck, I got failed in his subject. Unwillingly, and upon insistence of classmates, I went to him and requested him to give me just two more points so that I can get passing marks.
He took me to his room. Then, he sat down on his chair and calmly said: “Look sweet girl, I tell you what I want without any hesitation. If you want to get a passing marks, then let me touch you from waist up. If you want the full grade, then you need to let me use lower than the waist. You know it better”. I was shocked and speechless, had no idea what to say. It took me a few seconds to come back to my senses. Then I said to him, shame on you that you call yourself a teacher, and that you don’t know how to talk to a girl. I told him that I will do something that he will never forget this day.
I left his office, and went directly to the Chairman’s office and complained. The Chairman told me to cool down, and assured me he will look into this case.
A few days later, I heard that they transferred the professor to another province, without anyone knowing anything. A week after his transfer, the Chairman met me and said: “Everything ended in good way, and your honor was preserved as well”.
