KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Interior has put in place tight security measures across the country for the three-day Eid festivities, officials announced on Monday.
Nusrat Rahimi, spokesman for the MoI, told a press conference in this connection that the Afghan National Police would be on high-alert in all provinces and in the capital Kabul in close contact and collaboration with other security agencies. He said the 119 Police Helpline would be active round the clock.
The spokesman said the security agencies worked tirelessly to bring the level of crimes down by 10 per cent in the capital Kabul during the past one month.
However, not many residents of the capital city agree with the MoI spokesman. In conversation with Salam Watandar, a number of Kabul dwellers said the terrorists and other criminals have managed to cause troubles freely.
