PUL-E-ALAM(SW):Local commanders of a local uprising force in Logar province has complained that the security forces have disarmed them.

Sayed Farhad Akbari, a commander of the uprising forces in Logar, told Salamwatandar that some 12,000 armed men under his command are holding the militants back.

He added the local uprising forces have cleared 80 villages from the militants but security officials have arrested a number of men associated with these forces without any reason.

He warned that if the government failed to support them, they would stop fighting the militants and the area under their control would soon fall to the Taliban.

Sayed Farhad Akbari, has been released from the prison along with his 4 commanders 2 months ago.

He said that he spent 24 days behind the bars for no good reason.

Abdul Jalil, another local uprising commander in Baraki Barak district, said that the security forces do their best to stop the activities of the uprising forces let alone supporting them.

He said that he killed two Taliban members during the fighting but security officials imprisoned his two sons in return.

He asked the government to support the uprising to ensure better security situation.

Mohammad Salim Salem, Spokesman for Logar governor, told Salamwatandar that governor’s office has always supported local uprising forces and has never created any problem for them.

He said that local uprising forces have been armed against the Taliban and are active in Baraki Barak, Khoshi, Mohammad Agha and Pul-e-Alam districts where they have dismantled the militants’ activities to a great extent.
