KABUL (SW): Saaduddin Shpoon, the famous author, and poet of Afghanistan died at the age of 84 in Virginia, the United States on Sunday night.
Shpoon was born in Khan Aabad district, Kunduz province in 1933. He was a graduate of Pashtu literature from Kabul University.
He authored several books including his memoirs. He is well known to Pashtu readers for his unique style in poetry. He lectured at Kabul and Copenhagen Universities and worked at the Afghanistan Academy of Sciences.
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has wished to transfer Saaduddin Shpoon’s body to Afghanistan for burial.
