KANDAHAR (SW) – A road accident in Kandahar’s Arghandab district has killed at least nine people, an official confirmed on Friday.
According to Baheer Ahmadi, spokesman for the provincial governor, a passenger car on its way from Shah Wali Kot district to Kandahar city fell in a canal in the Khwaja Malik area of Arghandab district. He added four women, four men and a child are among those killed in the accident.
Such road accidents remain a grim reality in parts of Afghanistan.
As per the Ministry of Public Health, some 700 people lost their lives and more than 40,000 others got injured due to such accidents this year so far.
