PARWAN (SW): For the first time, a library has been built in Parwan province, which officials said can meet the academic needs of this province.
The library is built by a representative of Parwan residents in Wolsi Jirga, Saleh Mohammad Lala Gul which has four floors and estimateldy occupies an area of 20,000 square feet.
Saleh Mohammad, known as teacher Lala Gul, attributes the establishment of this library to a student in Takhar province who was studying at the University of Parwan, but could not find the information he needed due to the shortages of library and financial resources in the province.
Saleh Mohammad told Salam Watandar that one day, the student could not find the answer to one of the questions he needed for his assignment and hence he had traveled all the way to Kabul city to get access to books, and this has provoked Saleh Mohammad to build a library in the province so that other students don't face such problems.
The officials and professors at the University of Parwan hailed this move by the member of WJ and said that the lack of an equipped library has created many problems for nearly 7000 students and some 150 professors at this university, but now the issues will be resolved with the creation of the new library.
Zabihullah Alamyar, vice chancellor of the science department at the University of Parwan said he has already collected 22,000 books in 25 categories in this library.
This library was built in the township of Ahmad Shah Masood, in the Charikar city, in the center of Parwan, near the Ghulghundi recreational area. Although the library has not yet been officially launched, it has been widely welcomed by the Afghan youths and citizens on social media networks across the country, in particular in Parwarn province.
