Obaidullah Barakzai, WJ member from Uruzgan province, claimed out of 4625 registered policemen in the province, only 1700 are actually appearing for service while the rest are ghost policemen.

Haji Mohammad Hashim, MP from Faryab, said law and order situation in the province is not satisfactory, and top officials at the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense and the National Directorate of Security (NDS) shall prepare a comprehensive strategy for improvement. Zakia Sangi, representative of Parwan, also highlighted problems in this regard while pronouncing the number of security personnel in the province insufficient.

Meanwhile, Najib Danish, spokesman for the MoI, has discarded allegations related to ghost policemen and private prisons, stressing those making such claims should present evidence.
