KABUL (SW) – Employees of at least ten ministries and the Attorney General’s Office have received special Eid allowance after a delay of 20 days.
In line with the Presidential Decree, the public sector employees should have received this bonus within a week of orders.
However, Shamroz Khan Masjidi, spokesman for the Ministry of Finance, told Salam Watandar the bonus has been processed for the employees of certain ministries and the AGO. He said employees of the Ministry of Haj and Religious Affairs, Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Ministry of Mines, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock and the AGO have received the Eid bonuses worth 15 days of their respective services.
The spokesman said the remaining public offices should pay the equitant Eid allowance to their respective employees in a bid to encourage them for much better public service. He confirmed the staff of the Ministry for Trade and Industries, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Water and Power and some other directorates have so far not received the bonus.
When contacted, Sameer Rasa, spokesman for the MoCI, told SW that soon the employees of this ministry would receive their due share of Eid allowance.
It is worth noticing President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani directed relevant authorities to release the Eid bonus to public sector employees.
