TALUQAN (SW): A local warlord in Takhar province has encroached upon 15 jeribs of public property earmarked for school.
Findings by Salam Watandar indicate the property is located in the Qazaq area close to the provincial capital Taluqan, and is meant for Abdul Rahman Takhari School. Syed Inayatullah, interim director for education in the province, told Salam Watandar multiple efforts to reclaim the land have failed to yield positive results. He charged the police headquarters for not taking actions in preventing development of residential units on this public property.
The interim director for the education in Takhar said many months have passed since this property was first encroached upon, but none of the culprits have been referred to the court.
Sunat Taimure, spokesman for the provincial governor, has said in this regard that the legal institutions have been directed to swiftly process the dossier of this case. He vowed the provincial government would take immediate steps once encroachment is proven.
Faqir Mohammad, provincial police chief, promised to take the culprits into custody within a week. He said the suspects are local residents, and might have the backing of influential men in Taluqan city.
The Abdul Rahman Takhari School was built with some $ 3 million worth of aid by Germany. It also has a technical learning center.
