KABUL (SW) – Supporters of five politicians removed from the list of candidates for the parliamentary elections on Monday staged a demonstrations in front of the Independent Election Commission.
Supporters of these candidates, Mohammad Qais Hassan, Mawlawi Tarakhail Mohammadi, Sher Ali Ahmadzai, Mohammad Akbar Stanikzai and Zardad Faryadi, closed down the IEC gate in protest. They charged the names of their leaders have been removed from the list without any logical reason.
The protesters warned to close down all four entry points of Kabul if their demand to review the decision of removing these names from the list is not met.
Two days ago, the Independent Election Complaint Commission announced the names of 35 candidates removed from the list.
