
KABUL (SW) – President Ashraf Ghani spoke via phone with Wang Yi, minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, on the peace process and state-to-state cooperation.
According to the Arg (presidency), the two sides exchanged views on successful holding of presidential election, the Afghan peace process and state-to-state cooperation. It said Minister Wang Yi congratulated the president on a successful presidential election, terming it a significant process and briefed on the upcoming meeting (dialogue) set to be held in China.
“Both sides highlighted the importance of a peace process in which the government and people of Afghanistan play the central role and stressed Afghanistan-China relations are grounded upon the state-to-state principle”, said the statement.
The moot in China on the Afghan peace process has been delayed by Beijing for a while.
