Paktia residents express solidarity with Imam Zaman mosque victims

GARDEZ (SW): Paktia’s provincial council members, civil society activists and youths condemning the Friday’s attack on Imam Zaman mosque in the capital, Kabul, paid their respects to the victims of the attack  here on Monday.

At the gathering, they called the terrorist attack on the Shiite mosque as an effort by the region’s intelligence agencies to stir sectarian unrest in the country and insisted that such acts of violence will never divide the people of the country.

Mohammad Rahman, a provincial council member, Qari Haidar, a civil society activist, and Abdul Hadi, the director Hamas NGO, in unison said that terrorist attacks on mosques and places of worship cannot dismantle the unity of the people or pave way for sectarian war.

They called the attack on Imam Zaman mosque as grief for all the people and urged to unite against such incidents.

The Friday’s complex attack on Imam Zaman mosque in police district 11 of Kabul, left more than 40 dead and at least 90 injured, including women and children.
