ASADABAD (SW) – Multiple rounds of mortars have been fired by Pakistani forces on villages in Kunar province.
According to the local officials, the shelling has inflicted no human loss, but a number of residential homes have been damaged. The provincial governor, Ghani Musmim, told Salam Watandar that the Pakistani troops have fired some 200 rounds of mortars on the Sheltan district in the province last night alone.
A local resident Aziz told SW that the shelling from across the Durand Line has been going on for the past many days inflicting losses. He added the shelling has also spread fear.
There has been no official reaction from Pakistan in this connection, however, in the past it claimed to target suspected militants in this shelling.
