KABUL (SW): The Wolesi Jirga (lower house) on Saturday debated the law related to the utilization of a minimum of 60 per cent development budget by public offices.
After a lengthy debate on the matter, the house agreed that the interim heads of the ministries and directorates failing to properly utilize the development budget should be referred to the legal institutions for accountability.
Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi, speaker of the house, said on the occasion this law is related to those ministries and directorates that have utilized at least 50 per cent of their development budgets, but their operations are in violations of the rules.
The house is also set to send a draft to the Presidential Palace against the appointment of officials failed in proper utilization of the development budgets.
