KABUL (SW): Five more nominated ministers on Sunday presented their future plans for their respective ministries to the Wolesi Jirga (lower house) in a bid to earn the vote of confidence.
In this regard, nominated minister for the Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs (MoBTA), Ministry of Economics (MoE), Ministry of Public Works (MoPW), Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL), and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MoCIT) presented their plans before the house.
Gul Agha Sherzai, nominated minister for MOBTA, told the house he would strive to promote unity among various tribal groups, promote peace and attract international support. Mustafa Mastoor, nominated minister for the MoE, said on the occasion, if the house endorsed his nomination, he would strive to end corruption, lift the capacity of working force and promote domestic products.
Yama Yari, nominated minister for the MoPW, said in his speech that he would ensure the timely and proper utilization of the development budget, pay serious attention towards improving main highways namely the Salang Pass, and curbing corruption. Naseer Ahmad Durrani, nominated minister for the MAIL, vowed if the house endorsed his nomination, he would be instrumental in promoting and modernizing agriculture.
Shahzad Gul Aryubi, nominated minister for the MoCIT, said on his term he would immediately reduce tariffs on telecommunications by 10 per cent.
A total of 12 nominated ministers have been referred to the WJ for the vote of confidence. Five of them have already shared their future plans with the house.
