JALALABAD (SW) – The NDS Special Forces on Sunday confiscated up to 10,000 kg of explosive chemicals along with arms and ammunition hidden in a truck bringing cement from Pakistan.
The local officials told a press conference in this connection that the ammonium nitrate, which is banned in Afghanistan for its use in landmines, was confiscated by the security forces. This chemical was skilfully hidden in bags of Pakistan’s Charat cement.
Shah Mehmood Miakhail, governor of Nangarhar, told the presser the truck was confiscated on the main Jalalabad – Torkham highway along with a car with three men. He added the NDS forces also arrested a man with ten pistols and multiple rounds of ammunition in the Momand Dara district of the province close to the Torkham crossing point with Pakistan.
It was added the NDS forces also arrested a number of wanted criminals and pro-Daesh terrorists from Momand Dara, Pacheragram districts and provincial capital Jalalabad city.
