KABUL (SW): The Kingdom of Sweden with the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MoRRD) signed a 9 million dollars contract for reconstruction projects in 228 villages here in Kabul on Tuesday.
The project provides employment for more than 13 thousand people.
Nasir Ahmad Durrani, the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, said on the occasion that the Swedish aid will be spent on rehabilitating projects which need to be restored and on the foundation of some new projects.
Anders Sjöberg, the Swedish ambassador to Kabul, said the donation is for job creation and it is not part of Afghanistan's aid fund. He promised that the country will continue its aid to Afghanistan.
The MoRRD has completed 12,829 projects on constructing roads, water supply, and irrigation for more than 91 million dollars in 9,977 councils in 34 provinces.
